My parents came to visit!!!!
The end of my time in Guatemala we went to Antigua to do ministry with our parents! It’s been 9 months since I have seen them, and our week together was incredible. There is something special and powerful about doing ministry with your family. I loved getting to share this part of my life with my parents.
We had five days in beautiful Antigua together. We got to visit a community and give out water purifiers, and through it shared the gospel to three families! The races and parents led a Vbs together (where the parents acted out the bible skit-they should quit their jobs and be actors, really.)
We also build stoves for several families. Most women in Guatemala cook over an open fire all day. As smoke fills the small kitchen, the woman and her children breathe the smoke in. Many babies will get burnt when learning to crawl and walk around the open fire. Thankfully; this little one will be safe from that.

Stoves change lives. Find out more about stove and water filter ministry visit the link below!

We had one day to go on an adventure! I talked my parents into horse backing riding up the volcano Pacaya. We got to roast marshmellows over the lava coals that were still Burning! It was absolutely beautiful there and I’m so glad we could share that experience together.

I have so much to thank my parents for. They raised my well, taught me the importance of a relationship with Jesus and how to live. Without them I would not be who I am today. The race would not have been possible without them. They helped me fundraise and been huge supporters in my journey. The last few years of my life have been difficult, I faced a lot of challenges and didn’t put God in the center of my life. Being on the race and doing full time ministry has opened my eyes to how I want the rest of my life to look one. One centered around Christ and loving others. Not because it’s what my parents want me to do, but because it’s what I choose to do.
Col 3 says …”put off the old man, with his deeds. And put on a new man, which is renewed in knowledge, after the image, of Him who created him.”
This year I have been renewed in the knowledge of Christ. I have realized that even though I have known Christ, I still had a lot of the “old man” in me and this was standing in the way of a deeper relationship with God. And I want more.
I felt convicted to rededicate my life and get rebaptized, as a symbolic example of living out this verse. On the last night after our session, I asked my dad to this with me-in clothes washing pool in the back of a hostel in guatelema. It was a sweet memory and reminder for me to keep striving to know the Lord, and go deeper.

Update-I am now in El Salvador! We are living outside of San salvador at a church this month, teaching their youth and children’s ministries every night. We have been helping with the hurricane relief in the areas just effected as well. So many people lost their homes and lives were lost. Another tropical storm is supposed to hit us on Tuesday so please keep us in your prayers!
Prayer requests-
-pray for the families and communities effected by the hurricane
-pray for the gangs and violence in El Salvador
-pray for my team! We have 45 more days on the field and we want to finish strong!
Love you all!!!!!
