As I was speaking with my sweet teammate Jenny the other day God really put on my heart to be more thankful.  Thankful for literally everything he has done for me and our team.  For providing so extensively and loving us so greatly.

I decided to start this blog series called the Thankful Heart Initiative to help remind me to be thankful for all the ways God shows out.  I will do my best to post at least once a week with an update of what I’m thankful for.

Feel free to join in with comments about what you are thankful for each week!  We can all be more thankful for how God is providing for each of us.  Growing a thankful heart is an ongoing process.

Since I missed the first few weeks here are all the things I’m thankful for from the start of the Race until now:

A place to stay

Squatty potties

Rain

Rain jackets

A real shower

A/C

Peanut butter

The little gecko’s that share our house with us (shout out to Steven our gecko friend)

A real bed to sleep in

Lazy mornings

Spending time with God is those lazy mornings

All of the youth from the church and their sweet spirits

The beautiful example all the people set here of how to be more like the Son

Tiny cups of coffee that make me feel like a giant

Rice

Eggs

Martabok

Okay, basically all the food we have gotten to eat

Cool breezes

The white butterfly that hangs around our house that reminds me of God’s love for us

Clean water

A place to wash clothes so they aren’t super stinky

Super close wifi

All the times I’ve gotten to laugh with my team

All the really vulnerable moments with my team

Basically just my team in general because they are incredible women of God

All of the prayers, love, and support from back home

The adventure’s God has taken my team on so far

Coffee

All the American songs playing at the coffee shop I’m sitting at writing this blog

Cortizone 10

The times I get to read

Seeing the Maze Runner (in English!!!) with the youth

Being in Indonesia

Seeing how God is working here

That’s all I can think of right now, but there will definitely be more to come!  Take some time to thank God for all he is doing in your life right now too!

With all my love,

Chels
