You heard me right…
Laundry is different in other countries. We don’t have a fancy washing machine or dryer, although sometimes we wish we did. After wearing a shirt six times in a row in Indonesian heat it can get pretty stinky.
Our washing machine looks like this:
Our dryer looks like this:
One day after doing some laundry I hung it up outside to dry, although it rains quite a bit here, outside is still the best way to get things dry. Later my sweet teammate, Kimberly, went out to check on our laundry.
She went to feel if my bra was dry and a bird flew out. How long was it in there? Who knows? Not me. I am certain, though, it was quite comfortable.
I wonder how many other people can say they’ve had a bird in their bra…
Doing laundry this way makes me really think about how simply we can all be living our lives. We don’t need fancy things to get by. Just a sink, running water, soap, and sunshine.
Love,
Chels
P.S.
I am about $4,200 away from being fully funded! Thank you to everyone who has donated so far; I wouldn’t be here without you!
I did some math and checked our current budget which is $10 per day, $70 per week, and $280 per month per person (not much, right?)
If 420 people sponsor a day ($10) I will be fully funded, or
If 60 people sponsor a week ($70) I will be fully funded, or
If 15 people sponsor a month ($280) I will be fully funded!
Please consider partnering with me on this adventure! Watching God move in Indonesia has been such an incredible sight. Join me today! 🙂
