I come to you today while sitting in the waiting room of the operating room in a hospital where my dad is about to go into surgery.  Let me back up…

On Friday, January 5, 2018, my dad and I went out to go fishing for the last time before I launch on the World Race.  We had an awesome day and caught a whole lot of fish.  After we got off the lake my dad and I decided to go eat.

We went to Five Guys because a burger is the perfect thing after an eventful day of fishing.  We quickly ate and then I stocked up on the peanuts they served there because peanuts are awesome.

We left the restaurant and as I walked into the street I watched my dad tumble into the street and hit a moving car with his head.  He tripped on the steps and couldn’t quite catch himself.  As he laid in the middle of the street writhing in pain it took everything I had in me to not completely crumble.

People gathered, a woman took his pulse, I called 911.  The woman who’s car my dad hit got out and just prayed.  It seemed like everyone around me was praying which was a HUGE blessing.

The ambulance came and after asking my dad some questions they took us to the ER (although my dad wanted me to stay with the boat…).

My mom and brother met us at the ER.  The doctor ordered an X-Ray for his arm and a CT scan for his head.

Dad ended up breaking his arm in 3 places and praise God there was nothing wrong with his head other than the huge goose egg and a scrape.

My brother and I ended up leaving to go get my dads car and the boat which I then had to drive home.

On the way home I finally had the chance to somewhat digest what I had seen and what was happening.  I quickly started crying because I hated that my dad was in pain and almost seeing his head crushed was pretty unbearable.

I cried out to the Lord for healing for my father and to be near during this time.  God reminded me of the promise for my dad and the fact that he hadn’t died.

The Lord showed me where his hand was in this situation.  It’s hard to understand how He can use situations like this, but I know he will.

When I asked God what he wanted my next blog to be about he told me faithfulness.  I didn’t know that it would come like this.

Through every season, situation, trial, temptation, drought, rain, everything, God is faithful.  Even when we can’t see what he’s doing, he is faithful.  He never lies, there is not hint of turning in him.

He continually reminds me that his ways are higher than my own and that he will be with me through it all.

He is good.  He is good.  He is good.

No matter what happens he will turn every situation for good.  He will use what the enemy meant to destroy us to deliver us.  This is the promise for all of his children.

In the situation with my dad, in whatever situation you are in, God is faithful.  Even when it doesn’t look like it.  Keep pressing in and trusting that He’s got you in his hand.

Lean in to his love and faithfulness.

With great love,
