FM 1446 is a road I’ve driven down probably a million times. I know it like the back of my hand and I tend to drive down it pretty fast. It’s a curvy road that’s home to some pretty awesome farms and has set the landscape for some of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen.
Today as I was driving down FM 1446 I was stuck behind this guy.
He was going 25 in a 55 and there was a line of about 10 cars behind me. At first I was frustrated because I just wanted to pass him. I wanted to get home, drink some coffee, and hang out with my family.
God always amazes me with how he can turn everything into a lesson. He orchestrates simple things in our lives to help us grow and mature.
Today He reminded me to be patient. He reminded me to be at peace even when things are taking longer than expected. He reminded me that His timing is perfect in all situations.
So often we get caught up in our microwave culture. We want things quickly and easily, but that’s not how God works. He takes his time and makes sure that everything is done right.
God also reminded me that when we try to jump ahead of him it can be dangerous. I wanted to pass this tractor, but I couldn’t see past him. I could have tried to pass him, but I didn’t know whether or not a car was coming from the opposite direction.
Our sight is limited, but the Lord’s is not. He sees the whole picture while we only see a snippet.
Although it took me an extra 10 minutes to get home, I made it safely. I also learned a lot more from a tractor than I ever thought I could.
I want to encourage you to look for the lessons God is trying to teach you as you go about your day. There is so much to learn from him and he freely shares with us. Seek the Lord with everything you are, friends, I promise you won’t regret it.
With great love,
Chels
