My mom’s perspective as her daughter travels the world, telling people about the love of Christ. It’s been cool to see how my ministry has become hers.

“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” At once they left their nets and followed Him.” Mark 1: 17-18
This is exactly what Chelsea did. She saw and knew the goodness of Jesus, prayed and followed the call from God, in fulfilling His will for her life. What an experience as it continues to unfold for her.
The same for me here at home as I journey with Chelsea at a great distance. I have missed her greatly but yet feel so connected to her and the mission God so sweetly called her to. For one thing, that I live in a time where modern technology serves a great purpose, FaceTime and FaceBook. Had this been 10 – 15 years ago, the communication I’ve been able to experience with Chelsea would have not taken place. Also, God created me to not need as much sleep, getting up early and having great conversations with Chelsea at 4:30 AM while many are still sleeping. Along with a wood stand in the living room listing each country in order of her travels, I write the date she arrives in each country on the backside while receiving a postcard from Chelsea from each country. But most importantly, praying for her with my husband, family, and friends, along with sharing her mission work on FaceBook has become some of my mission for the Lord. The power of prayer truly brings oneness with the Lord whether you are near or far. The beauty of Jesus is that He is with Chelsea while she is far from home and right here with me, back home. For that I am blessed!
Not all of our conversations were filled with happy times. Travel challenges, home sickness, illnesses, difficult decisions, imperfect housing accommodations, and saying good bye to new Christian friends were some to mentioned. However, the happy times sure out weighed the difficult times. Hearing Chelsea’s voice on the phone when God showed up in a miraculous way with the need for rain in a drought community or transportation getting into another country or “Mom, I sent you a video, watch and then call me” I did and I saw her and her friend Brandi take a bungee jump that was higher than high over a river, photos of Chelsea playing her ukulele while leading Christmas worship and her washing the feet of students that walked many miles to school each day. What joy in my heart to see her fulfilling God’s plan. For that I am thankful!
In the next few weeks, Chelsea’s team will experience PVT. Unfortunately, I will not be able to join her in Thailand, however, her dad will be happily joining her to experience the WR parent style. What a wonderful time that will be. I will look forward to hearing and seeing all that week unfolded for them.
I end with asking God to bless Chelsea and all that He has planned for her these months to come. I will embrace each conversation, good or bad, with ears to hear, eyes to see and words of wisdom from our heavenly Father.
Chelsea, “…Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
I love you Chelsea Elizabeth!
