If you asked me two weeks ago what life in Bali would look like, I couldn’t have dreamed the life I’m living. The rice fields are lush. The people are incredibly kind, generous and sincerely grateful. People are hungry to learn English, because its the best chance they have to get out of poverty. Little do they know, they’re hungry for something else instead.

One of the ways we reach the community is through our Fun Friday event. On Fridays we open the garage doors to the community of kids around us. The team of racers before us, helped plant the seeds for the gathering of 30-plus kids that show up on mopeds to sing songs, play games, and learn English. We end the night with storytelling and Discovery Groups, where we discuss the story with kids ranging from ages 4-16.
Before any child can come, the parents sign a permission slip to enabling them to hear about God. In Indonesia, it’s illegal to try to change someone’s beliefs from their family’s. You are allowed to practice what you preach, so long as you don’t share it with others.
Today we’re going to a school in Ubud to put on a similar program. We get to love on kids that have never heard the stories we get to tell.
However, we’re heading out a bit depleted. Please pray for healing amongst the team. We’ve had two down for the count, and have had our first hospital visit this weekend. We need protection. Please pray for the kids we will meet, and the stories that will transform their families’ lives. Please pray for opportunities of rest for our hosts. They’ve been incredibly gracious by welcoming us into their homes and lives.
I’ll get to tell you more about my month in a couple weeks.
