Hey Friends!

I’ve officially been in Bali for one week. It just hit me last night that I am actually on the World Race! Bali is one of the best vacation spots in the world. It’s known for its surfing, waterfalls and spirituality. Most tourists seem to come from Australia and the United Kingdom, so there’s a touch of the western world.

Bali is also a place of deep spiritual darkness. Most homes have temples or alters. You can feel a darkness brooding over the land – yet the people are generous and kind. Most of the island makes a living off of tourism, but with the recent volcano eruption many tourists cancelled their plans. The volcano didn’t end up exploding, yet it has left the Balinese in turmoil without work.

That’s where we come in. Most of our month looks like meeting people and giving them hope. We get to tell them about forgiveness and about a God that doesn’t define his love for them based off the alters they can build or what they can offer him.

Our hosts, have been incredibly generous and welcoming. They’ve sacrificed their lives, in almost every sense of the word, to bring peace to Indonesia. They are energetic and passionate about creating a community that knows the Father and wants a relationship with Him.

We only have three weeks left in Indonesia, and we’re incredibly grateful we get to come alongside our hosts. They definitely show us the fun and joy of the Father’s heart!

I can’t wait to tell you more about the people we meet, and the relationships we will continue to form!
