Hey guys!

Most of you probably know that I’ll be headed to Vietnam next month for month 4 of my race. What you might not know is that Vietnam is a closed country, which means it’s illegal to go into the country with the intention of doing mission work. So, from here on out, I am not on a “mission trip,” I am on an 11 month humanitarian trip, volunteering.

So what does this mean for blogs and vlogs (videos)? A few days before we leave for Vietnam, I will be setting a password for my blog, which means you’ll have to put in said password to read any of my posts. This is to keep me, my team, the squad, and the ministries we work with safe.

My blog, as well as my team’s and squad’s blogs will all have the same password to make it easier for everyone to read them.

Password: ISQUAD2018 (all caps)

I’m still figuring out what exactly my videos will look like. I will probably wait to talk to our Vietnam host about what is the best way to go about it and I’ll update you then. I do know I’ll have to be careful about the language I use.  Words like “church,” “ministry,” and other words of that nature are not acceptable, so if you notice that I’m not saying words like that and find it weird , thats why. The same goes for my public social media posts. I’m just trying to stay out of jail and respect the government of the country we’ll be in.

At the end of the month, I will take away the password protection, but whenever we re-enter another closed the country, the password will be back and the same (ISQUAD2018).

I would like to take this time to also let you know that that my final fundraising deadline is November 30th. Currently I have raised $17,246 of my $18,100 goal. Please prayerfully considered donating, as the amount I have raised will soon impact my ability to stay in the field or not.
