Romania is where I’m spending month 2 of the world race. This month is all-squad month, which means all 4 teams & 3 alumni squad leaders (29 people!) are under one roof! This month has been such a blessing and a month of growth for me.
We are in Draganesti-Olt, Romania partnering with Raul & Hope Church. From 9:30-11:30 we do prayer and intercession at the church, usually praying for the missionaries that are partnered with Hope Church. Then from 3-7, we do ministry. Ministry looks different everyday. Some ministries we’ve gotten to participate in are: widow ministry, eyeglasses ministry, children’s ministry, street evangelism, painting the church, office work, making videos, church renovations, soccer, and so much more! Every afternoon, multiple groups (3-5) go out to do different ministries. God is very present here and doing big things!
ROMANIA
The lore of Dracula brings thousands to explore the history and beauty of Romania, from its castles to the idyllic countryside dotted with horse-drawn buggies and endless herds of sheep.
Romania is quickly rising out of the impoverished state left from the Soviet era.
Still, economic growth is out of reach for millions, known as gypsies, who live nomadically within the country’s borders.
Though strangers in their homeland and rejected by society, gypsies are a strong and vibrant people.

CULTURE!
It is impolite for men to keep their hands in their pockets when addressing women, older people, or large audiences.
In rural areas, it is customary to say, “Hello” to anyone who walks by, even strangers. This is especially important when the person is older or a figure to whom respect is due, such as a priest. Walking by someone without giving a greeting is considered very rude.
It is customary for guests to bring a small, inexpensive gift when invited to someone’s home.
