A few days ago the Jeremiah’s hope family encountered a tragedy. We woke at 5am to hear that a couple who lives in the village we are staying in, had a fire that destroyed their home.
Daniel and Janna Ross are two of the most amazing people I have ever come across. They have dedicated their lives to helping orphans and at risk youth in many ways, from running camps 5 weeks each summer, planning discipleship weekends for at risk girls, helping provide support and supplies to the house parents, support and oversee transition homes for orphan graduates, and construction support to orphan ministries. These two have such big heart for kids and teens who need it the most. To see the loss they have endured in the last week is heartbreaking. But even in the midst of such tragedy and loss, Daniel and Janna are role models for what a strong marriage looks like. They have leaned on each other in these last few days and I have seen the strength and grace God has laid over them. I can’t imagine what they’re going through but I know I wouldn’t handle it even half as well as them and with smiles none the less.
As a team we have been working to find a way to help Daniel and Janna by doing more than helping them clean and we decided to help them raise money to build a new home!!!
