Hey this is Bradley!
Sorry I haven’t written in a while.
Its been a Wonderful three months of growth and time with the Lord. My team has been doing many different ministries throughout our time here. Our first week, we helped remodel a house for unwed mothers. This consisted of moving a family room size pile of stuff outside; once outside, we’d sort through the pile and separate it into a trash pile and a “keep” pile. After everything was outside, we stained the floors, swept and mopped the floors, painted and then moved everything back inside of the house.
After this was done, we dug a six foot deep by forty foot long trench at Inca Link to prevent the weight of dirt from pushing up on our ministry hosts fence, wheelbarrowed it four properties up the hill from Inca Link, and then shoveled the dirt into bags and took that up a hill to dump it. This was by far one of the hardest seasons of the race for me. Working 9 to 4 every day for almost two months doing manual labor gets very difficult, especially if you aren’t in the right mindset.
After completing our manual labor ministry, we started a new ministry. We would leave Inca Link for the first time in two months and work at an elderly home called Hogar. It was very sweet getting to know these people. We helped them exercise and my friend Garrett and I became close to a man named Rene. At the start of the month, Rene could barely walk, but after Garrett and I helped him practice walking during the month, Rene could walk without our help! It was very cool seeing God work in this way.
In addition to working at Hogar, my team also helped lead practices with the soccer team that Inca Link started. There, I helped by doing photo and video work for the team. We worked with players from age 15 to adult. I was able to make highlight videos for most of the players on the under-18 team.
I would like to ask you to please keep me in your prayers—for my and my squad’s transition from the mission field to being back in the United States, and for God’s direction and guidance regarding my future plans.
Muchas Gracias!
