So here’s a story about an unlucky shower experience in Zambia. My friend and teammate Garrett and I were out in the bush with the rest of our manistry( all guys) team when we went to shower in the crocodile infested Zambezi River after a day of ministry. After we were done drying off, we started walking up the river bank to the trail that would take us home, when I saw a baby snake about five feet away from us. Garrett then decides to put his foot towards it and this snake turns around and opens up its hood and bares its teeth. From my snake obsession days when I was younger I remembered that when a venomous baby snake bites an animal or human, it releases all of its venom, which could kill its victim in a matter of minutes. If either of us had been bitten by this snake, we wouldn’t be here to tell the story. Here’s some info about my time with my brothers in the bush of Zambia. So after a 6 hour bus ride from Zimbabwe, we finally arrive in Livingstone, Zambia, a small tourist town that is famous due to its close location to Victoria Falls. The touristy part reminds me of parts of America in a way. After meeting our ministry hosts and going through orientation, we have four days off to explore Livingstone. During this time, I got to see the magnificent Victoria Falls, my third natural wonder of the world. Every time I look back on photos from this day, I’m like woah this is real. This is incredible. How could this have been created by a Big Bang. God Made This! Ministry in our first village we went to consisted of evangelism and playing soccer with kids, one of us giving a brief word afterwards. On one of the days, we led a leadership conference in the church we were staying in. It was cool seeing people much older than us coming to hear us speak. Ministry in the second village consisted of us doing more evangelism on the first day. On the second day, we walked 6 miles to a village to invite people to a kids play day we were hosting that day. In one of the of the skits, I was zachius climbing the sycamore tree. It was really cool experiencing African culture and connecting with the people around us. It was also a month of personal growth in the lord for me. Before the World Race, journaling and having quite times was something I really struggled with, but this month I missed only five days. Please keep me and my future team in your prayers as we share Christ’s love in Malawi for the next two months. Thank you and God Bless Had trouble adding photos so they will be on my Facebook https://web.facebook.com/bradley.newton.315080
