Heres a basic rundown of what my team did for our ministry during our stay in India. Our ministry was called community development, where we would travel to different villages and present various programs.
The first day, we played with kids, and gave a presentation on health over subjects such as not cooking on the floor, brushing teeth, receiving yourself in restrooms and not on the sides of the road (its very common). This same night, we were praying over a man who had lost his voice and movement in his right arm due to a stroke. All of us prayed for him and his voice came back.
Every day since then, we have played with kids, teaching them new games (a lot of duck duck goose), and taught them songs. After having played with the kids, we would have refreshments/dinner and then either preach a sermon, lead interactive songs and tell bible stories, or share testimonies.
Whether it was through seeing people hear about Jesus for the first time, or watching a mans voice be healed, God has made himself more and more evident to me in so many ways every day.
The main thing that I have gotten out of ministry this month in India is that you have to be all in. You can’t be halfhearted in your faith.
The biggest thing I have have challenged myself to do this month is to Dive Deeper. Into the word, into Jesus, into ministry, and into relationships with my peers.
As India comes to a close, please be praying for my team, me, and most of all, the people that we will come into contact with this month here in Nepal.
