Hey everyone—I am Bradley Newton from metro-Atlanta, Georgia. I’m so pumped to go serve the Lord on this Gap Year and I cannot wait to see how God’s plans unfold during these upcoming nine months.

I love hiking, mountain biking, camping and everything outdoors. I also love photography and videography. Everyone should check out my video from my mission trip to Peru a few weeks ago—-here’s the link!

Anyways…back to the subject. I love music: alternative, country, and rock being my favorites. The Avett Brothers, The Head and the Heart, M83, and ELO to name a few.

Serving the Lord through missions and spending time with the people I am serving, especially children, is very fulfilling to me. I’m looking forward to escaping the post high school bubble and venturing out to experience the world, where there are so many needs.

In my sophomore year of high school, I went on a Spring Break mission trip with my church to the Dominican Republic. My heart was opened up to other cultures and their living conditions. It surprised me how close I felt to God and how simple life could be, and how joyful the people were, with what little they had. The next year, I returned to the Dominican Republic on a second mission trip. This year, I was fortunate to serve, on a third trip, in Peru. These trips have helped me grow so much in my relationship with Christ.

I’m praying that I can serve those in need around the world on this nine month world race. This “race” will offer adventure, but will also stretch and challenge me. I’m hoping that my experience as an Eagle Scout and my adventurous spirit will have prepared me well to be a servant for the Lord to the neediest of the needy.
