I recently started fundraising in a way that supports not only my trip but a specifically intersting group in the Philippines. There is an organization called Threads of Hope where families in the Philippines make bracelets and then people can order them with no upfront cost and sell them to help fundraise their trips. Half of the proceeds go to my trip and the other half I send back to the families in the Philippines. So far it is going well, everyone in my school is extremely supportive. People are coming up to me and asking “Are you the girl that is selling the bracelets?”; I am surrounded by a wonderful community. In other important news I gave my SENIOR SPEECH at younglife club this past monday. I could not believe it was already my time. I had sat there for so many years looking up to all the seniors that walked in front of that club room, and this time it was me. I spoke about an extremely embarrasing story from when I was in kindergarten when a girl (who quickly became my best friend) had called me a boy. I related it to the miracle in John 9, where the man born blind is asked repetitively who Jesus is, and with every question he takes a second look at Jesus. Just how my friend took a second look to see who I really was. It was an overwhelming experience but I loved it, it felt incredible to be standing up and sharing my story. There are only a few weeks left in my senior year and my excitement is overwhelming. Wish me luck as I continue my adventure before the real one even begins.

                                                                     Much love,
