My birthday was this past Saturday, and boy did God show up! First off, I’ll give some information on where we are staying this month.

We are in Penang, Malaysia for the month of April at St. Joseph’s Home, a home for children with single parents/family backgrounds that are unable to comfortably provide for their children. There are about 40 children between the ages of 6-19 that live full time at the home. We walk them to school at 7 am and then hang out with them until they go to bed after they return home from school around 2-2:30 pm.

I love these kids so much! They are all little angels. So polite, generous, caring, and fun-loving. St. Joseph’s is a Catholic home, so some of the children are Catholic. The home doesn’t turn away children based on religion so some of the kids are also Hindu. This presents such an amazing opportunity for us to form relationships with these kids and tell them who Jesus is and what he means to us. PLEASE pray that our team would be bold and intentional in sharing Jesus with these kids and being able to speak encouragement into those that already love Jesus.

Ok, back to my birthday!

  • The day started at an old folks home. The kids visit an old folks home once a year and they had prepared choreographed dances, so we got to hang out there for the morning.
  • Rested for the afternoon and received some bday presents from my team.
  • Towards the evening, we walked around the city and went to a cat cafe! A cat cafe is a fun place where you can order your food/drink and hang out with a bunch of cats that live there. How fun is that!
  • For dinner, we went to a place called the Red Garden, which is a local hotspot for good, cheap food. It’s basically a huge street food market. There’s lots of fun things to try there.
  • Went to bed feeling so thankful for the amazing birthday the Lord just gave me in MALAYSIA. WHAT!
  • The next morning, I went to get wifi and God gave me an awesome next day birthday present: I’m FULLY FUNDED!

Thank you so so much to every one of you that prayed for my fundraising, donated, spread the word, or supported me in any way. It means the world to me. I wouldn’t be here without all of you! We did it, we reached the final goal! It was definitely a birthday to remember.
