The last day at Santa Teresita I decided to do something similar to what I did at the end of El Salvador.

I wrote notes. Notes for many of the youth that we encountered, the students at the school, people within the church and our host family. They were simple, but personal. Most had at least one verse and the intent was simply to motivate and encourage.

This month, I felt super overwhelmed at the sheer number of students we encountered at the school. There were a few students who stood out but I felt like there were a ton who would benefit or be deeply impacted by some personal words from me before we left.

With limited time, I begrudgingly decided to just write verses in Spanish instead of the more personal notes I preferred (thank goodness for the bilingual Bible I bought in El Salvador). As I searched for verses and wrote them all out (at least 50 by the end) the Lord revealed something really cool.

‘My words are infinitely more impactful than yours.’

As I pondered that thought my ego took a pretty big hit but in the BEST way.

My most intentional, well thought-out, meaningful words pale in comparison to the things that the Lord has to say to people through his LIVING and ACTIVE word.

That conviction led to a rapid attitude shift.

I joyfully finished my verse-notes knowing that they would have more impact than I could even imagine simply because they were dispersing the word of God. He has the power to use those truths in life-altering ways. I got the privilege of delivering little nuggets of truth to the students and teachers at that school as my farewell.

Pretty stellar end to a pretty stellar month if you ask me!!

Dad I’m fine (:
