In the short time of living in this beautiful, exotic country of Indonesia I am most intrigued by the people and the culture.
Yes, I may be a sucker for the tropical flowers, flourishing palm trees, and warm weather but the people of Indonesia already have a special place in my heart.
Our ministry here at BAIS (Bandung Alliance Intercultural School) involves us serving the teachers here by accomplishing tasks that they could not do otherwise. Getting to know the teachers on a personal level has been the most fun. Just within these past few weeks of arrival some of the teachers had us over for a movie night, they took us into town to the baptist church, and even made a schedule to have us over for dinner some nights during the month we are here.
#BLESSED
When I envisioned what the World Race would be like, I did not imagine that we would be the ones receiving blessings. And what a shock this has been.
The community at BAIS has been so intentional about their influence that it’s just a natural flow of God’s goodness that shines through all the staff and students.
I’m not going to lie I was certainly shocked when I found out what this month would look like. I was frustrated because I did not feel as if I was being challenged in the right ways, but little did I realize that this is exactly what I needed. The teachers and many of the people we have been in contact with have had such a huge impact in my life already. They are not only constantly blessing us with the physical needs, but as well as the emotional and spiritual aspects. I’m learning what it looks like to live in a biblical community. God is so cool by giving us these teachers to encourage my team and I to serve and choose each other daily.
Overall, these past two weeks have been so fruitful. We have had the opportunity to lead both primary and secondary chapel in worship and through a message. The students here are so full of life and have such a contagious love for the Lord.
My team and I are having an incredible time here. The love that we have for each other already is so just unbelievable and I am honored that we have the opportunity to do life together on a daily basis. I have seen so much growth, grace, and gratitude towards one another these past few weeks.
A huge thank you to all who have been covering my team, BAIS, and this community with prayer. God has certainly been moving in this place. We really appreciate the prayers and if y’all would specifically continued to pray for this community and BAIS that would be great!
