[Sorry for all the bombardment of blog posts– just trying to catch up with all the posts I missed last month and I also don’t want to get in trouble with our storyteller, Carolyn]
Here’s a bit about where we are and what are doing in Bolivia.
Where are we: Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia.
- About 16 hours by bus, away from the capital, La Paz
- Populated, cosmoplitian city
- We are staying at another YWAM or JuCUM (YWAM in Spanish, Juventud Con Una Misión) base this month
- There is Wifi here (yay! more regular posts for you guys)
- About 30-40 minutes from the central part of the city
- We are given the blessing to be fed traditional Bolivian food by the staff that cook it here
What is it like here:
- It is the beginning of summer here, so it is very hot and humid most days
- There are LOTS OF MOSQUITOES here, so I am literally eaten alive each night. I had a count of 8 new bites on just my left leg alone from just last night
- HIPERMAXI is the Walmart of markets here
- Buses and taxis are the main form of transportation
What will we be doing we doing here:
- Working alongside a local church, helping them with evangelism as well as giving short messages and testimonies
- We recently visited a special needs orphanage
- Helping uplift another church
Thanks for reading and God bless!
