I’ve made it to my 4th country on the race, which is South Africa!!!! My team and I are in Johannesburg, and have the pleasure of working with Impact Africa missions for 2 months!!
I’m also only a few days away from hitting the halfway point of the race, so I thought I would share some of the things that the Lord has taught me thus far.
Within the 4 and a half months that I’ve been away from home the Lord has completely transformed who I am and who I am becoming. I’ve learned what it looks like to have a real relationship with God, a friendship. Before coming on the race I saw my relationship with God as a 1-way relationship, me talking to him about my problems, and him never responding or doing anything about it. Or so I thought. Being on the race I’ve been able to press into who God really is, and the truth is, he is a relational God. He craves our attention and he patiently waits for us everyday to realize that he’s right there waiting for us with open arms. Our God, the God of the entire universe, wants a personal relationship with me. I’ve learned about Gods compassion and how much he truly cares for us. God has an army of angels fighting for each and every one of us at all times, every second of everyday! AN ENTIRE ARMY FOR ME!!! I’ve learned about Gods graciousness and mercy, and his yearning to help us with anything and everything. God wants to take all the hurt, weakness, pain, heartache, and everything else from us.
I am so excited to learn so much more as this journey continues!
