Today I learned things that are absolutely sickening. The horrors have consumed my mind all day. The darkness and evil that the world contains is incomprehensible.
Today I learned how revolting, how real, how unimaginably evil slavery is.
SEX TRAFFICING IS REAL
What’s crazy is that statistics PROVE that there are more humans enslaved in this second than there has ever been in HUMAN HISTORY
…. there are more slaves today…in 2017…then there were when slavery was legal
let me repeat that
there are more slaves right now in the world than there were when slavery was LEGAL
The Dominican Republic is the 3rd largest sex trafficking nation in the world.
800 children are brought over the border from Haiti to the DR every month in result of sex trafficking.
That’s 9,600 children every year.
That’s 50,000 children every 5 years.
This is a reality for people who are living down the road from me right now.
This is the reality for so many woman and children in the world in this moment.
There are 45+MILLION people enslaved in this moment.
This is no longer a problem that is out of my reach.
This is no longer something that I can turn a blind eye to.
This is no longer a problem that I don’t have to deal with.
Sex slavery is real.
It is happening. These are our brothers and sisters, our world, our people that are hurting.
I’ve been really conflicted about this topic and stuck feeling hopeless, and confused.
Confused about why God doesn’t stop this awful thing. My insides are screaming out to Him for help. But through prayer God has shown me how important this is to Him and how much He is hurting with His children. This is something that I’ve become extremely passionate about very quickly.
In Romans 12 (MSG) it says to “take your ordinary life –your sleeping, eating, going to work, and walking around life –and place it before God as an offering…Readily recognize what He wants from you and quickly respond to it”
I truly feel like God wants me to give him my ordinary life so He can take it and turn it into something meaningful.
As for right now I have committed to being a prayer warrior for those effected by Human Trafficking and Sex Slavery. If that is all God needs me to do than so be it, but I am here and I am willing to be used in any way to help His children.
Out of the 45 million people enslaved only 1% are ever rescued.
We can be the ones to change that 1% into a much larger number. Spreading awareness about this topic is so crucial and could actually save lives.
People need to know about this, and be educated on this problem that is taking over.
Human Trafficking is already the fastest growing criminal industry in the world.
It produces over $150 BILLION in income every single year.
We have to work together to inform people about this.
Those of you reading this may feel it’s way out of your control, that it’s too far from home, let me just reassure you that this is going on in not only the shadows of the world, but also in the backyards of our own homes in America. All it takes is for one person to speak up, and to get other people to proclaim the truth of our sickening world. All it takes is one person to begin a ripple effect of change, please don’t ignore the fact that you can help change these horrifying statistics.
