Hey Jesus!
I want to say thank you for this mighty pair of shoes you blessed me with. For the family who so generously gifted me them. I didn’t see it coming, but these shoes have gone to some pretty awesome places and done some really cool things because of you!
Thank you for the miles and miles of land they’ve crossed protecting my feet. They’ve been through rivers in Virginia, survived rain storms in Japan, climbed to the top of the Smokey Mountains and reached the ocean bottom in the Gulf. They’ve been made fun of because of their appearance and misunderstood for their impeccable effectiveness.
They are the comfort of all sole comfort. My feet are very thankful too!
They’re able to breathe, dry fast, slip on and off swiftly.
They’re strapped in with support, but have enough freedom to not feel smothered.
But here’s my problem Jesus… they’re starting to fall apart and I can’t have that happen!
You see, these mighty things have been on my feet for 64 of the 70 days I’ve been on this race. And technically speaking they’ve been on my feet roughly 804 of the last 1,656 hours (subtract the 8 hours of sleep every night and we’re looking at over 80% of the time it was me and these little stinkers). The only days they haven’t I was climbing volcanoes or playing soccer with kiddos and wanted to spare them the pain and challenges.
With your help, they’ve brought me to church, they’ve supported me through prayer, they’ve guided me to ministry, and they’ve carried me to coffee shops. They’ve handed out food to the hungry, they’ve hugged the lonely, and they’ve even marched through parades in Guatemala. None of this would have been as easy if I didn’t have them.
I seriously don’t know what I will do with out them!
The soles are coming detached.
I’ve tried gluing them back together and the glue won’t stick.
I ‘m trying to walk as gently and tenderly as possible.
I make sure they aren’t thrown and tossed around.
They get at least 8 hours of rest a night.
I don’t know what else to do,
So I’m coming to you!
Please save these mighty sandals.
Give them the endurance they need to last until July!
Give them the motivation to push through when they want to give up!
Provide a means of reattaching their soles!
I pray that they know how valuable they are, and I’d love to make it all the way around the world with them!
Thanks Jesus for hearing me out.
You always listen, even for the littlest things!
Amen (y Amen)
Meet my Chacos, in need of a sweet little prayer!
