While looking at my Instagram, it would be hard to see that I did ministry this month in Thailand.
This month was ATL for me (Ask The Lord), and when asking the Lord, He brought me to…
WHOLISTIC LIVING:
Knowing that the physical, spiritual and emotional are all connected.
Mind, body and spirit.
Our ENTIRE selves.
While listening to my squad mates (and I) consider joining a gym this month, the Lord asked me, “If you have a degree in exercise science, and you’re Zumba certified AND you love to workout and motivate people, why don’t you use the gifts and talents and passions I have given you, to disciple your squad-mates FOR FREE?”
So that’s what I did!
Before and after posting coffee shop vibes and elephant adventures, I discipled my squad mates in exercise and health.
Every morning Monday through Friday we had 2 running groups:
- Left at 6am and joined the local elders in the park for Tai Chi
- Left at 7am, met the Tai Chi’ers at the parkand everyone ran back together
Every evening Monday through Saturday I led a variety of exercise classes.
(Ex: Zumba, Yoga, STRONG by Zumba, Pilates, HIIT, and progressive muscle relaxation)
In addition, the Lord led me to meet a kind man at Tai Chi.
He is a Jewish man from Jerusalem, living in Thailand for the past 3 years.
Upon meeting him, the Holy Spirit told me, “I just want you to love on him. To show him he is seen and cared for and appreciated and valued and loved.“
Although he knew I was Christian, we never talked about religion, I never shared the gospel and I didn’t try to convince him to accept Jesus.
All I did was hangout with him.
Shared in his intrests of Tai Chi with fans and swords and Lai Tai.
Gave a daily welcoming high five and smile.
Went out of my way to see him just so he knew he was worth it.
And that was all God asked me to do.
I struggled multiple times this month with the question of, ”is what I’m doing enough?”
Because everything God asked me to do, is something I love and am passionate about.
How can doing something I absolutely love be ministry?
Aren’t I suppose to be suffering for the Lord?
Well we have SUCH A GOOD FATHER!
Sometimes God calls us to things that are hard and that make us uncomfortable.
But other times He calls us to things we love and are actually good at!
So this month for ministry I gave my squad mates opportunities to workout and I chased after an Israeli man who is 40 years older than me, to make him feel loved!
And my ministry this month was ENOUGH!
