“Don’t go chasing waterfalls, just stick to the rivers and the lakes that you’re use to.“

What? NO. Those lyrics are dumb!

GO CHASE THE FREAKING WATERFALLS!

God did not call you to a watered-down, mediocre Christianity.

If being a Christian is boring, then you may not be experiencing the fullness of God!

Life with God is an adventure.

Now, I’m not talking about traveling to 11 different countries kind of adventure.

I’m talking about the feeling you get in your stomach when the Spirit moves you to go talk to your co-worker and tell them about Jesus.

Or the absolutely nauseating feeling you get when you know God is calling you to change jobs or take a pay cut to make room for His Spirit to move and interrupt.

Or maybe He is finally calling you to take the selfless step of becoming a parent.

Perhaps He is asking you to start a house church or Bible study.

Or maybe He IS calling you to overseas missions.

WHATEVER IT IS, life with God is an adventure.

If a relationship with God doesn’t make you want to respond like Jonah (run away from what He has called you to do and get trapped in the belly of a whale), you may be watering down His Holy Spirit.

Life with God is exciting, terrifying, thrilling, scary, unpredictable, and so so fun!

I have come to realize that when His Spirit moves in me, I get hot and sweaty and my heart starts racing and I want to cry and poop my pants all at the same time.

It’s scary and unattractive, but how stinkin’ fun to be invited into the greatest journey with my most loyal adventure partner.

Today I encourage you to stop, listen to His Holy Spirit, be bold, step out and do something that totally terrifies you.

He not only wants you to walk in obedience to Him, but He wants to give you the desires of your heart and show you how fun it is to follow Him!

Don’t put God in a box! He is creative! Let Him show you!

Here is a few testimonies of how fun God is:

I got to trek to Everest base camp and share my testimony with unbelievers and share the gospel with our Hindu guide.

I drove a bicicle-rickshaw in the midst of a not so fun time, and it gave me so much joy! God knew exactly what I needed.

I get to do Tia Chi with really old Thai people every morning, where I met a friend from Jerusalem that I now get to love on and encourage all month.

I got to throw water on people during Thailand’s New Years festival (in their culture the water symbolizes the cleansing of ones sins going into the new year) and tell everyone that their sins were already washed away over 2000 years ago by the blood of Jesus.

I get to use my passion and knowledge of exercise and health to disciple my squad in wholistic living.

I got to go into brothels and invite prostitutes to come eat free papusas, just so we could talk to them and love on them and show them they are humans worthy of being seen, loved and accepted.
