I just submitted an application for a job at one of my favorite places in Michigan.  I checked Facebook and there it was.

I couldn’t, could I? I just came home and things are going well, I shouldn’t leave again.  But what if I did?

It felt like God had me up in a high chair asking if I wanted a carrot, staying home and building up a community there, or an apple, returning to the field to build up and disciple fresh and new World Racers.  Both are good.  Neither is bad.  And I had to choose.

In the past it was very clear which choice I should make, but not this time.  And SHEESH, it was awesome because I feel like I have graduated from an infant Jesus follower to a toddler, but it was easier when I didn’t have to choose.

After a while of inner turmoil and trying to avoid making any  decision, I sent my leadership at the World Race a message,

My decision came down to knowing that home will still be here when I get back, and in the meantime I would have an incredible opportunity to disciple and help build the foundation that the team will carry past the three months that we are together into the rest of their Race and hopefully into whatever comes after it too.

With all that being said, I will be team leading another group of World Racers during their first three months on the field in Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama.  My role is to, first and foremost, be a teammate.  But also to set culture, cast vision, help them get settled in short term missions, disciple, mentor and walk with them through all the emotional, spiritual and physical conflict that happens in the beginning of the Race.

I leave on June 2nd for leadership training, training camp and will finally travel to Nicaragua on June 15th.

Until then, I’m staying with my sister, working at a coffee shop, babysitting and taking a lot of walks in the woods.

I need to fundraise $3,500 for my three months on the field, please consider donating and please please pray for me, the squad and the hosts we will be with.

Love you all.
