Hello! My name is Tara Lynch, welcome to my blog!
I am going on the 2017-18 World Race Gap Year, specifically Route 6, in which I have the possibility to go to Malawi, Zambia, India, Ecuador, and Nepal. I will be doing anything I can to help the community and spread the love of Christ, such as cleaning, building, teaching in schools, working with churches, among many other branches of ministry with a squad of 50-55 other college students.
I originally heard about the Race from my sister, who had heard of a year-long missions trip. I researched further, and came across the nine-month gap year trip, and I knew immediately that is what I wanted to do. After much time praying, consulting my parents and close friends, I decided on applying for the trip. I was accepted and overjoyed, followed by pure panic about preparations, finally followed by peace and knowledge that this is where God is leading me and that everything will work out according to His will, and currently overfilled with excitement for this next part of my life.
I am the third of four children, my sister Caithlin is 25, my brother Caleb is 23, and my younger brother Ethan is 16. I have a Brittany Spaniel named Copper, and don’t tell my family, but I will miss him most. I have an adorable niece, Brielle, and a wonderful best friend, Brittany, who has (all but legally) adopted me into her family.
I love theater, through which I have met most of my friends, and have traveled to New York to see eight Broadway shows so far with my best friend, although that number will most likely increase by the time I launch. I love animals and small children, and you can bet that at any social gathering I will spend more time with animals and children than with adult people. I love music, I have played piano since I was young, I began to learn guitar about 6 years ago, and picked up ukulele this past year. Some of my other hobbies include coloring, building pillow forts, and binge-watching Netflix while eating insane amounts of popcorn.
I hope you will consider donating to my trip, any amount no matter how big or small would be incredibly helpful. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and if you have any questions about my trip or want to know any more information feel free to email me at [email protected]
Thank you for spending the time to get to know me, and God bless you!
Tara Lynch
