On your marks. Get set. Go!
Hello everyone! Thank you for visiting my blog! Whether I told you in person, you received a letter and phone call, you heard through a friend, or you are just browsing, I am so glad you are here. I am at the beginning of a journey that I know will change my life. Let me tell you more about it.
After 25 years, some would say I have lived a pretty “cliché” American, Christian life. I was a preacher’s kid. I attended a Christian school. I played sports. I worked at a Christian summer camp, and church and youth group were always in the weekly planner growing up. Oh, and I’ve also attended the largest Christian University in the world for the past six years. So what now, a mission trip? As a matter of fact, yes. But this is more than a mission trip, and my life can be described in many ways, but cliché is not the direction I’m headed…
A year ago, I would not have said I am called to leave the comfort of my own bed, pack everything I need to live in a backpack, and leave my country for a year. What I would have said though, is that I have known for a long time that I have a call to and passion for working with youth, especially teenage girls, and women as well. I would have said that I truly believe a big part of my life will be given to this calling. I also would have said that I am willing to go wherever Christ leads me, and that “wherever” is going to be in a classroom teaching full-time after graduation in America…but here I am.
God is moving me forward in a direction I could not have imagined just a few months ago, and it’s scary.
In late 2017, I and a team of other Christians will travel on an eleven-month international mission trip dubbed The World Race. Each month, our team will be in a different country spreading the truth of Jesus through serving the people of those countries through service projects, ministry, discipleship, prayer, and many other avenues adding to the efforts of the people already serving in those countries full time. We will work with many widowed and orphaned, as well as women who have been victims of human trafficking. Eleven countries in eleven months, as the hands and feet of Jesus.

A great evangelist once said, nothing of eternal significance is accomplished apart from prayer. I believe in the power of prayer and that it is essential to the work of Christ. Will you consider supporting by being a prayer partner? My prayer is that I will be used in every facet that God has created and gifted me for, all for the glory of God.
I am also in need of financial support. My need is $18,017 to be fully funded by August 2017. My goal is to have 150 partners give $121 (11 x 11), which can be a one-time donation, or set up as a recurring automated gift of $11 per month, for 11 months. This donation or donations of any amount, can be made through this blog under the “Donate!” tab. I will be updating all prayer and financial support partners through my blog throughout this journey. Please feel free and do not hesitate to contact me with and questions! Thank you so much for your prayer and support!
In Christ,
Talya Taylor
