Well, here I am on the world race again. I had no idea what to expect or think as I stepped into this season of team leading and while some days are harder than others I thank the Lord every day for this opportunity to disciple some of his sweetest daughters. My time with Gap Q has been amazing thus far. My first week or so in the field was spent with a team that goes by the name SISTERS. They have been so welcoming and have loved me so well through this transition. Here is a little about them and their ministry.
HALLIE
This sweet girl is just about as stand up comedian as they come. She never fails to make me laugh and lighten up a space. Through this, she has the capability of making everyone feel so very safe. She is so relatable and loves others so well. I feel like I can be completely real with Hallie and that she will be completely real back with me. Check out her blog at halliemoffitt.theworldrace.org.
TIERNEY
T, as I call her, is such a beautiful soul. She has a heart of gold and truly loves others unconditionally. She feels deeply for those she loves. She is the perfect shoulder to cry on and has no problem being vulnerable and real. She is full of joy and excitement for everything that is placed before her, no matter how hard it is. Check out her blog at tierneymeans.theworldrace.org.
MACK
The best way to describe sweet Mack is a ray of sunshine. She is full of joy and peace. She shines so brightly for the Lord and seeks Him so fully. She has a way of making everyone in a room feel loved and seen in such a natural way full of grace and beauty. Mack does a great job at leading the people on her team into a place of vulnerability. MAGGIE
Magatha is full to the brim with wisdom. Watch out because every time she opens her mouth she has something to share that will blow your mind. While she carries this wisdom, she also carries so much humility with it. She is so easy to love and get along with. I also love how willing she is to let the team in on where she is at in order to move forward from it. Check out her blog at maggiedunne.theworldrace.org.
TAYLOR
Tay is HILARIOUS. She always speaks exactly what is on her mind and constantly has me on the floor laughing. I rarely see her without a smile on her face. Her realness with how she is feeling in every moment makes her such a trustworthy person. She is also a woman of perseverance. She won’t stop until she has completed the task at hand and completed it well. Check out her blog at taylorcraig.theworldrace.org.
ALEXANDRA (ALLY)
Ally is most definitely the team mom (every team HAS to have one of those haha). She is so very good at making everyone feel so loved and appreciated. She shares everything she owns and makes sure everyone is taken care of and doing well. She also has such a positivity about her and is capable of bringing people out of negativity and into her positivity. Check out her blog at allyvedrenne.theworldrace.org.
AVERY
Avery is a woman of FAITH. She is unshakable and fights so hard for intimacy with the father even in the midst of hard days which is so beautiful and encouraging to see. She is such a natural leader and always speaks from a place of positivity and wisdom. She also carries such a servant’s heart and serves her team and squad so well. Check out her blog at averyjones.theworldrace.org.
SARAH
I love this girl!! She, as the team calls her, is the personal hype woman of Sisters. She has such a good head on her shoulders and is always full of energy and positivity. She has a way of bringing groups of people together that wouldn’t normally hang out with such ease which is such a great quality. She is always seeking out the next adventure and eager to try something new. Check out her blog at sarahcartee.theworldrace.org.
So here they are, my sweet sisters. I am so eager to get to know them better and learn from them as we embark on this three month journey. They are so on fire for the Lord and have a beautiful ministry opportunity. They are working in the Slums of Costa Rica with an organization called Renuevos and will be taking on the task of starting their very own program for the Nicaraguan refugees in La Carpio, Costa Rica. Wow, what a task to take on month one of the world race. While it is hard, it will be so great for these girls and myself. They are taking every moment in stride and pushing towards growth through it.
More specifically, they are working with kids, teens, and women who have recently traveled across the border to Costa Rica in hope of finding refuge from the protests and political turmoil going on in Nicaragua. SISTERS, along with myself sometimes, will be providing an oasis from the hardship they are facing as they transition into a life completely different than they once have known. They will be introducing Bible studies and fun activities with the goal of showing them the true love of the father and giving them hope.
So here it is, one of my teams and one of my ministries. With my role I will be floating between three teams at three different ministries so keep an eye out for two more meet my team blogs as we kick off this crazy journey yet again.
Also, just as a general update, we left the USA and arrived in Costa Rica on the 12th. Then, we started ministry on the 14th. This country is full of beautiful people and scenery. I am so excited to call this HOME for the next THREE months. We are living in a beautiful house (that is an AIM base) just about a ten minute walk from Walmart, McDonald’s, and many other local restaurants and coffee shops. We live as a whole squad which means 53 people under the same roof, but I LOVE it.
The Lord is definitely stretching and growing me everyday as it isn’t easy taking on a leadership role. Even though it is all so new, I am so grateful to be here and serve alongside such amazing men and women who are so hungry for more of the Lord and serve so graciously. I am eager to see where the next three months takes me. Thanks for following my journey yet again!!
