Honestly, I was a little nervous when I found out that my route had switched to India. I have heard so many tales of hordes of people, smells and intense heat. I was told not to smile at people or make eye contact with the men because that would give them the wrong impression. All the stories I had been told where enough to overwhelm me and make me wonder what my Indian experience was going to be like.

I can honestly say that Indians are some of the nicest people I have ever had the opportunity to meet. They have such warm, beautiful smiles and hospitable servant hearts. I have been so blessed by the people here, they are always willing to help us out “sister, sister, what do you need, how can I help?” is something I hear a lot.

Another thing I have learnt is that Indians love selfies. My friends and I were visiting a fort on our off day a while back and we no joke stopped for probably somewhere around 40 selfies. It was really nice to be able to stop, smile at them, take a picture and if possible learn a little bit about them because that in of itself is a little form of ministry.

India, I was wrong about you, and I think you are quite lovely 😉
