For the past week I have been translating for CIY (Christians in Youth) in Brazil. But other than translating I got to know each of them a little more hearing them share their testimony and simply laughing and having fun.
Some of them at such an young age have gone through so much.
Some just in need of a strong community, so I ask myself why is it so much easier to find that so longed for community among a group of strangers, some barely able to communicate in English, than it is in the US? How much will we allow the money and the daily rush get in the way of socializing and making friends?
Anyhow as the tittle said, today was the day to say good bye. A bus was rented to take everyone to the state capital and me among several of the youth grupo came to drop them off.
And this goodbye was so hard, harder than most. All I wanted was to tell them everything is going to be fine, you are going back to a loving community. But unfortunately that’s not the truth for all of them.
However I can say God loves each and everyone of them, that no matter where or when God will be there for them. And as long as possible I’ll be there for them, if not physically, by phone or in prayer.
I can say they have touched me and one thing this week has shown me, is how much I truly have to offer, the abundance of love I was given to share with others.
Having the right words is good, but sometimes all that’s needed is to show love, even in my clumsy sleep deprived state.
For those here this week I pray for God to guide you this year to come, and to all others I leave you my love.
Best wishes
