Last week, my team and I had the awesome privilege of attending the baptism of five prisoners from the high security women’s prison in Craiova. Originally, we were asked to attend to encourage the women after the service and just speak life into them. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the prison and the crimes committed, we were not allowed to talk to them.
However, Cassie and I had the privilege of documenting the service and the baptisms. Nothing brings more joy to my heart than to witness lives changed by the Gospel. And let me tell you, the Spirit could be felt during the service. As these women stepped into the water for baptism, the biggest smiles came across their faces.
Here is the Facebook post from our ministry host that shares the testimony of one of the women. Below this written testimony is a video testimony from one of the other ladies.
“I want to share a story with you about one of the prisoners. Her name is Mioara, she was one of the prisoners who had committed murder. Mioara had a dream where a person, or figure, came to her and told her to read 1 Corinthians 6:19. When she woke up she read what she had been told to, and that is the very verse that brought her to Jesus. She came to me, full joy and gratitude for this life she now had with God. I was, and still am, simply overcome with the knowledge that the power of the blood of Jesus can transform any life.”
A video recap of the baptisms will be coming shortly. But until then, I ask you to pray for these women. That they chase after the heart of God. That they walk in forgiveness and freedom in Christ.
Love you all!
