So as my first post I was advised start with why I chose to join the race. My second attempt at explaining came out a poem….

“The World in Color”

I woke up one day a Man was my father and God my best friend,

The World was Luminous, Warm and in Color.

God came to me and gave me a gift,

It was musical so I sang.

I woke up one day a Man was my father and God my best friend,

The World was Vibrant, Amiable, and in Color.

God came to me and gave me a gift,

It was a rhythmic musical so I danced and sang.

I woke up one day a Man was my father and God my best friend,

The World was Bright, Exclusive, but still in Color.

It questioned my singing and asked me to stop dancing so I did.

God came to me and gave me a gift,

It was words so I began to write.

I woke up one day a Man was my Father and God my best friend,

The World was Dim, Secret, but still in Color.

It laughed mischievously and asked what are you writing?

God came to me and gave me a gift,

Its was new eyes so I began to see.

I woke up one day God was my Father and no man my best friend,

The World was Grey, Black, but still in Color.

I cried not understanding and the world looked on in loud whispers.

I woke up one day God was my Father and no man my best friend,

The World was Red, Weeping, but still in color.

I grew angry only having my written words.

I woke up one day God was my Father and no man my best friend,

The World was the same; Red, Weeping and still in color.

God came to me and gave me a gift,

It was vocal so I began to pray.

Final Comments…

I believe the God has placed World Race on my heart for this season. Missions has always been apart of me and I am excited to have this opportunity. Despite my fears or current frustrations. I am choosing to believe I can trust God with my life, my future and all else I hold dear.

I pray that…

My feet remain steadfast, heart open, and spirit in tune to his presence.

God birth in me a new vision for living and life that is full. More full than I could ever imagine.

And that I hear his voice clearly and have the courage to follow.
