Can you believe I’m only 5 months way from leaving for the World Race?  The last month has been filled with some major ups and downs, a week and half of sickness, new adventures, hanging out in a hospital and an overwhelming appreciation of all that have donated money to my World Race fund.

I wanted to take some time today and share with you what I’ll be focusing on in March.

I want to educate myself and you about the places we’ll be visiting on the World Race.  I’m planning to do a short post about each country we’re scheduled to visit throughout the March to share interesting facts, potential ministry we could be doing, and information about the customs of that country.  As I’ve been talking to more and more of you about the trip and receiving more donations I’ve realized that one of the most exciting parts of this experience is going to be sharing the story of this trip with you and I want you to be as invested as I am.

Personally, this will be a month of clearing out. I’m heading off into the world for a year with only a backpack on my back and I’d really rather not store the entire contents of my house for that period of time.  Besides, I have way more stuff than I could ever need in my life.  Not only is it distracting, but it can be overwhelming at times.  I probably won’t be going full blown minimalist, but this stuff has got to go.  By the way I recommend you check out the documentary “Minimalism” on Netflix next time you get a chance.

Finally, as we are 5 months away from my launch date I’ve decided to set a goal to raise $5,000 by the end of this month.  I’m confident that the Lord will make this happen and it will put my first Adventures in Mission financial deadline behind me. Woohoo!  To help me get there I’ve got three fundraisers on the books for this month already.  More to come on the last two later, but let me set up the first one.

Drumroll please …

In keeping with the theme of learning more about each country I’m inviting you to “Adopt-A-Country”.  This easy fundraiser gives you a chance to put your spare change to good use and develop a personal attachment to a country that I’ll be serving.  If you’re interested, check out my blog all about it and let me know which country you’d like to adopt.

In closing, I want to take a moment to say,

Thank You!

Over the past month I’ve been so humbled and overwhelmed by the amount of support, both financially and emotionally, that I’ve received from friends, family and co-workers. Truly, you all are amazing and I couldn’t be doing this without you.  I knew God was calling me to do this, but I had no idea how He was going to make it happen.  Now I know, it’s through you all, so thank you for not hesitating to ask questions, to encourage, to pray and to give when you’ve been called to do something.  I cannot wait to share this entire experience with all of you!   #puddles

As always, please continue to pray for my team and I as we prepare for this amazing adventure.  Continue asking me questions and learning with me.  If you’d like to learn more about how you can support me financially check out this section or click on the “Donate” link above.

With Love,
