Six months till launch!!  As the time gets closer, my excitement grows stronger. This is going to be an amazing trip. A few days ago however, our squad was told we will no longer be going to China and Mongolia. Instead, India and Nepal will take their place. Most of us were a little upset, but soon later agreed that God has something bigger and better in store.

India is not the nicest place to visit, but we must keep in mind this is not a vacation. This is a calling from God to get out of our comfort zone in order to reach the lost. If we turn away from the unpleasant places, we turn away from the people who may need Him the most.

This reminds me of the story of Jonah. Jonah was an amazing prophet of the Lord, but when things got hard he ran. He didn’t want to witness to the Ninevites because he wanted nothing to do with them. So what happened? Long story short, he set sail to Tarshish when God sent a giant storm his way. So the men of the boat threw Jonah overboard and he was eaten by a giant fish! Jonah was in the belly of that fish for three whole days! Finally Jonah repented, and he was spit out onto dry land just in time to go to Nineveh. The people there repented of their sins and the whole city praised the Lord! Now the story has a happy ending for the Ninevites, but for Jonah, his heart still had not changed for these people.

If we are not careful, the same thing could happen to us, whether it’s people from another culture, to a kid at school who sits all alone. Jesus wants to use us to reach the lost, and the lost is who we will reach! We can either sink or swim, so let’s do this!
