Update on my preparations! Training camp is less than a month away! I have raised $6,000 and I am so thankful for all who have supported me so far. I still need $11,000. It’s been an emotional few days, 3 of my best friends left for Africa and I won’t see them for 15 months! I said a lot of goodbyes last weekend but it’s exciting to see what the Lord is doing in lives around me.
Things are getting tough folks! The enemy is buzzing around me like 1,000 mosquitos trying to suck the life out of me. I was thinking a few days ago about how temptations and attacks from the enemy are sooooo annoying! They are just like flying insects. I am not at all intimidated by them, yet they cause me so much trouble especially when they get close enough to bite or sting. It is the same with sin. We let it land on us so gently, we try to slap it away or sometimes we don’t even see it until it’s already bitten us. These annoying little bugs are also drawn to light and warmth. Just because we are saved and have the light and warmth of the spirit doesn’t mean the sin bug won’t come for you! Satan loves attacking Christians. Like I said earlier, I am not intimidated by these bugs. We can clothe ourselves properly, stay away from areas where we know they will be, and even use sprays and zappers to kill them off. In the same way we can put on spiritual clothing, stay away from areas where we know sin will be, and use prayer and scripture to kill it off. If we do this we don’t get bit or stung as often.
