A while back I first heard the song “Oceans” by Hillsong United. As I listened to the lyrics a certain verse captured me.

“Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior”

I listened over and over while I felt myself in deep worship. I began to feel tears as I started understanding the lyrics.
I thought to my self, “these words would be an amazing prayer”. I knew God would be pleased with me when I wholeheartedly prayed these words.

” Father thank you for romancing me through this beautiful song, you are alive in me and I have complete peace knowing that. So Lord I pray in the name of Jesus that you would lead me where my trust is without borders so that I may walk upon the waters wherever you would call me. Lord I pray that you take me deeper than my feet could ever wonder so that my faith would be made stronger. All for your glory, I surrender all. In your name, amen.”

I also prayed to be more like Jesus. Shortly after these prayers I felt an undeniable calling for missions and ended up spending 3 months serving in South Africa/Mozambique. I continued these prayers throughout my time in Africa and developed a deep passion for global missions. These prayers continued, and not long after Africa I was accepted to The World Race. Some may say these are scary prayers, but what’s so scary about being more like who you were made to be? Genesis 1:27 Says ” God created man in his image”. We are made in His image. So why not pray to be more like Him? If I live to be 100 years old, my life on earth would still be nothing but a blink of an eye compared to the eternal life I have been promised in heaven. So I surrender my life on earth to allow the Lord to use me whatever way he wants to. I surrender to a life of ministry so that others can also have this beautiful, powerful and intimate relationship that I have with Jesus, my lord and savior. He has answered my prayers! He has led me, and continues to lead me, where my trust is without borders. My faith is being made stronger as I am constantly in situations where I have to fully rely on Him. Not just with missions, but in everyday life. The countless sacrifices I am having to make are worth it, and I will pray these “scary” prayers time and time again until the whole world hears about my wonderful savior Jesus! That being said, ministry/missions is hard. I will fall and I will fail (a lot), but with the power of the Holy Spirit, The promises of God, and the unconditional love of Jesus Christ I will “keep on keepin’ on”. I will fight the good fight until I am called home to be with my Father.

Thank you, everyone who took the time to read this y’all are awesome! God bless you all in the name of Jesus!

-Matthew 14:28-31-

“Then Peter called to him, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.” “Yes, come,” Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted. Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?””
