These are all quotes and moments from our students at our ENGLISH CLUB here in Vietnam!

We are working with CHRISTMAS HOLI that doubles as an English-speaking club & is open to the public. So, every day from 3 to 6 we have “on call time”, which means that we wait in the café for anyone who would like to come in and talk with us, to practice pronunciation, or get help with English homework.

Then comes the fun part; every night from 7:30pm-10pm we are in a room full of students ranging anywhere from 7-24 years old. Their ages may vary but their goal is the same: to practice English! As it turns out, preparing and hosting this nightly lesson is the best way for us to serve the people well and build relationships with them.

Because Vietnam is a semi-closed communist country that discourages evangelism the relationships we build in class are just the ground work; the goal is to be able to spend time with the students outside of class and share with them our beliefs.

Because the people here are so friendly this relationship building has been so stinking easy. We learned this when on the third day of class one of them offered to come by the next morning with some of her friends to pick us up and “show us around her country”; she came with a note pad that she had filled with facts (in her best English) on all the monuments she was taking us to. Talk about heartwarming!

We are excited to have students that are eager to learn and to have the opportunity to share truth with them as our relationships continue to grow.

Here are some of the cute faces we see each day:
