Top 10 FAQs that I have received over the last couple of months. If you have other questions, please don’t hesitate to comment/text/call/or email me! I’d love to answer any questions you have and share more about what Jesus is doing in my life!

1. What is The World Race?

The WR is an 11 month mission trip that travels to 11 different countries. I will be partnering with local communities and ministries sharing the redeeming love and freedom of the gospel. To learn more about Adventures in Missions and the World Race check out this video 2016 Year End Review

2. Why did you choose The World Race?

I chose to join the World Race because of the structure, variety, and focus on the gospel. My role as a missionary will be to pray, listen, and respond to the tasks Jesus calls me to each day. The variety of mission work excites me because I will continually be given opportunities to serve others in ways that are outside of my comfort zone and share the redeeming love of the gospel.

3. Where are you going?

Chile, Bolivia, Argentina/Paraguay, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Rwanda, Uganda, Ethiopia, Thailand, Cambodia. I won’t know exactly where in each country I will be serving until a few days before my arrival due to the specific needs of the many ministries that partner with Adventures in Missions.

4. What will you be doing?

Ministry in each country will look different. My team and I will partner with a local ministry in the country for that month and serve alongside them. Ministry on the race can be anything from loving on children in an orphanage, teaching English and Bible studies, sharing the hope and freedom of the gospel to refugees and victims of human trafficking, to construction and clean water projects.

5. What about your job?

While leaving my job will be difficult and bittersweet, I was overwhelmed with joy by the support and encouragement I have received.

6. What about your safety?

Adventures in Missions takes the safety of its racers very seriously. They are constantly assessing and modifying routes based on what is best for racers. I will be going to training camp in August and will learn more about the proper way to dress, act, and travel safely within each country. As well as I am preparing my body and heart for this journey by getting the proper vaccinations, strength training, and continually developing a deeper relationship with Jesus. Safety is a concern, however I am choosing to find peace and rest in the truth that God equips those HE calls and HE never leaves us.

Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

7. Why not stay in America and be a missionary?

For the past two and a half years I have been working in a temporary shelter for children in foster care. God gave me a wonderful opportunity to minister and advocate for children who have experienced traumatic events in their young lives. God has blessed my life by being able to share the gospel with these children and even my coworkers and I definitely recognize the need for missionaries in the United States. However, God has placed on my heart a desire to go and keep spreading the gospel to the nations. I am willing to follow HIS will wherever HE asks me to go. I am willing to dedicate all that I have; my family, friends, goals, career, everything to HIM because I live to serve God each day.

8. What are you hoping to get out of this journey?

I am hoping to develop a deeper and more dependent relationship with Jesus. I am hoping to be the hands and feet of Jesus and serve the least of these. I am hoping to be a light in the darkness and help people claim the freedom and victory that God has given us.

9. What country are you most excited about?

I have always been drawn to the Spanish culture, customs, and people. I am excited to learn more about the culture in Chile, Bolivia, and Argentina/Paraguay! I love how hospitable and welcoming people in South America are and how they encourage and appreciate every effort to communicate in Spanish. After my short term mission trip to Peru in college I realized the disconnect people felt from God and the need to develop a relationship with Him. I pray that God uses me in ways that draw people into a deep and growing relationship with in every country we minister to during the race.

10. What can I do to support you?

There are 3 easy ways you can support me and God’s calling on my life:

  1. Share my story- I know a lot of people, but together we can reach even more! I want people to know the amazing work that God is doing in my life and around the world and I need your help to make this possible. So please share my blog and ministry page with anyone who you think would be interested.
  2. Financially- I have to raise $18,000 to cover the expense of all travel, lodging, and food. I also have to purchase backpacking gear, vaccines, and other personal costs associated with traveling for 11 months. By clicking on the donate button at the top of my page you will be able to join me on this year long journey- any amount is greatly appreciated and helps!
**You can become a monthly partner by setting up a safe and secure recurring donation that will auto-draft from your account until I am fully funded.
**You can give a one-time gift.
  3. Prayer- You can pray for me, my team, and our ministry. I know this isn’t going to be easy. There are definitely going to be tough days where I will be exhausted, discouraged, and full of questions. However, knowing I have the prayers, support, and encouragement from all my supporters back home will be a huge comfort and blessing!
