I just go home after spending two weeks in the woods of Georgia. I went into those woods to prepare for The World Race Gap Year, my nine month mission trip that I leave for in September. In those woods I experienced wonderful people, mind blowing God moments, AND THE PLAGUE!… ok not like the black death plague, but a couple of the squads there got infested with lice and that was definitely ONE of the plagues from Exodus.
God spared my squad from those pests (praise Him) and came face to face with us in ways that I never knew were possible. He showed up through sessions that we sat through on learning how to minister to those we will meet on our journey. He showed up through worship. He showed up through prayer. He showed up through a session that exposed some of the ways he shows up! How cool is that!?
A work was started in my heart many years ago and it has been in progress for years. Recently, I began to think that the work had stalled and I would remain this amorphous blob of a heart for the rest of my life. Not appealing. During this training camp God showed me His hand is still at work in my life, in fact He is more at work than ever before. It has given me a raging fire ready to be released on this world come launch in September!
As excited as I am about this fire, I am still a long way off when it comes to my fundraising goals. If you have read this far you either have a strange thing for lice (don’t be that person, its weird) or you are at least slightly invested in this journey which is fantastic! Right now I am inviting you to join me by assisting me with my fundraising goals. You can donate right here on this page! How convenient! If you are financially unable, or simply don’t feel like God is calling you to donate, that is ok too, but I would love if you could be praying for me as my team and I prepare. Either way, thank you for reading and look for my next post! God bless!
