Honduras has been off the hook! Loved it here it’s been so pretty mountains surround us constantly. We have four teams here and life is great. I would love to thank my supporters again so much this has been a dream come true. So far ministry had been very laid back. We roll yarn at “The Home” it’s a place for special needs kids. Soon I will begin painting walls which is something I have experience in and can’t wait to make that place shine. The people here are beautiful. Our hosts spoil us with fruit loops and pancakes and coffee everyday as well as fires at night when we want. It feels like everyday is so refreshing. Some of the guys get to wood work which is awesome and make furniture for around the house and who knows what’s next!?!?

Thanks giving here was also so great we ate a DANGEROUS amount of food and I definitely OD on pie but hey how often do I get pie here? Life in community is so great to. Never know what a day with the guys looks like here we’re always doing crazy stuff weather it be popping Jonny’s arm zit one day or fighting with machetes the next or flicking matches at each other on fire around the fire life never slows down even when we’re taking it easy.

Love my team there truely my family here. Always pushing me to grow along with me doing the same with them. Holding me accountable and pointing out where I can grow and also where I have grown has been so refreshing. As we share our dreams and concerns on things with places we want to grow and things we want to change in ourself their wisdom through the lord speaks volumes to our issues as well as putting our minds at rest. Because the world is so unsure. Post race is scary because this is a dream come true. But that’s the beauty is gods hands paint the path of our future. Through each other too showing that where you slack your fellow brother or sister can pick you up and so forth. One thing I’ve realized is how much community means. I’ve never had solid community. Most people flake out and run at the sight of responsibility or anything of importance or bigger then just themselves. But wow. I’m not deserving of what I have and I thank the lord daily even if I’m still struggling man at least I know I’m growing. That’s going to be my biggest need/ plan of action when I come home COMMUNITY.

I’ve truly grown to see what it means to be a man of god here. First off I would like to say that doesn’t mean we don’t get to have fun. I mean shoot 30 minutes ago we were having a contest to see who could burp the longest because the sprite is over carbonated. But it means we don’t have to fall victim of patterns of self destruction men have chose to follow today. This looks like taking advantage of women, staying “half true” to morals, backing down from our god given role of leadership, and most of all not growing/ owning up to our mistakes. Here if you make a mistake you will get called out on it. And you either grow or stay the same. I suggest your grow because each time you grow gods sunshine gets a little brighter. But that’s not all. I would like to point out our women as well. Ryan Duart also talked about them in his blog as well. Atta boy to him. As well as leadership told us not to forget about them as well. Don’t worry we haven’t. Women’s role is so crucial. They reach the most sensitive and touchy areas us men can’t. Women who have been abused by men in many ways, they shed new perspective to us men and keep us in check because well we can get carried away. They keep everyone organized and help get stuff done. One women who has shaped me to be the man I am today is my mom. Boy I would not be anywhere near on a gap missions trip if it wasn’t for my mom. Taught me how to be a gentlemen. She took care of me and spoiled me. My best friend as well as someone who I look up to. Has great wisdom from god. A perfect example of a Christian women. As well as she can admit and grow from slip ups and failures. Always follows through with what she says she’s gonna do( which has got me further then most things ever will) miss you mom and love you.

We had also lost our male squad leader here. I was pretty bummed about it. But once we met our host David I was relieved. He is a great man of god. Born in Texas and moved here at 13 he has devoted his life to hosting missionary’s. As well as a great role model for the guys. With his education and wisdom of God as well as experience to live for the flesh he brings a full circle perspective to give to not only the guys but the whole squad. His wife scarlet is Honduran and a very smart women as well. She’s so passionate for her people and justice. As well as she is very intwine with god and makes very many sacrifices for god to soak up all the spiritual gifts god has given her. She cuts out any kind of violence to be put in her head so her dreams can speak to her through god. The words she’s given me and my team have come at times that are very needed and you can just tell from the way she prays that her bravery is wired in her from god. We have been spoiled with a great power couple for two months.

I’ve had my eyes opened these last two months. Now it’s time to keep that chain reaction going spreading the love of god everywhere I can.
