The Holy Spirit is the Abiding spirit of Jesus
If there is one thing that I learned on my 9 month trip around the world, it would be the indescribable power of the Holy Spirit.
“Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper (the Holy Spirit) will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgement.”
John 16:7-8
The Holy Spirit in the life of unbelievers is to convict them of sin. It does NOT say it condemns them.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only son, that whoever believes in him should not parish but have eternal life. For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.”
John 3:16-17
It is impossible to evangelize and antagonize at the same time
Jesus never ministered or healed to any saved people.
The Holy Spirit doesn’t condemn but convicts because he knows he can get you back on the right path
So heres what I learned. I am not a sinner saved by grace
I am a child of God and God doesn’t call me a sinner. HE calls me HIS SON!
The word of God doesn’t say that you are a sinner if you are saved!!!
“But to all who did receive him, who believed in His name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.”
John 1:12-13
If the Holy Spirit doesn’t condemn then why do we still condemn ourselves?
Don’t focus on sin but focus on him
I want to be everything he wants me to be
because I want to make sure what I say lines up of what he sees about me.
Theres no one that can express God the way you can!!!YOU ARE ONE OF A KIND!!!
YOU ARE ONE OF HIS KIND!!
You are created in His image
How did you get His image?
Look into a mirror
He is the only mirror you can look at because he is the only true image of who you are
Don’t look into the mirror of sin or condemnation
You are who God says you are and when HE speaks, there is no condemnation.
“There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
Romans 8:1
“If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgives our sin and to cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness.
1st John 1:8-9
ALL MEANS ALL
So if there is no more sin, it is impossible to call you a sinner.
“Jesus answered him, Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born again when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born? Jesus answered, Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit”
John 3:3-6
Jesus wasn’t talking about a natural birth, he was talking about a spiritual birth.
The Holy Spirit birth us into the Spirit of God
When the spirit birth us into the kingdom of God, He comes lives inside us.
This is the abiding presence of God
“You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. “
Romans 8:9
The Holy Spirit is inviting you to have a partnership with you.
When Jesus feeds the 5,000 – Matthew 14
In verse 19, the multiplications of bread and fish didn’t happen in Jesus’s hand. It happened in the hands of the disciples. Jesus gave it to the 12 disciples.
People think we need faith for God to work. No!!! God just shows up!!!
In Fact, Jesus was there for the 12 disciples. He has your back and is always with you!
The Holy Spirit is asking you, will you come and work with me? He is saying, “Partner with me!!”
Every person he puts in front of you, thats the spirit says, will you partner with me?
The Holy Spirit doesn’t come to visit us, He comes to stay with us!!
He wants companionship.
“Do you know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?”
1st Corinthians 3:16
The Holy Spirit dwells inside of you!!!
Don’t give up because you are struggling, Keep pushing through!!!
Because the day is going to come when you are through the obstacle and overflowing of the presence of Jesus and you are going to change someones life with the presence in you!!
One you know all this, You will be EMPOWERED BY THE Holy Spirit!!!!
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Acts 1:8
“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with the power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.”
Acts 10:38
The Holy Spirit empowers you to heal the sick like Jesus did. To banish demons and evil spirits!!To speak Prophecy, to speak and understand tongues, and to have discernment!
“And there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same spirit, to another working in miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. ALL these are EMPOWERED by one and the same SPIRIT, who apportions to each one individually as he wills.”
1st Corinthians 12:6-11
He empowers you. This only happens by the Holy Spirit which is working through you!!!
