Hello folks! It’s been a while since I’ve updated yall on how my trip is going!

I made this video on my phone on the 16 hr bus ride back from the remote village we stayed in.
*my computer crashed and was sent back to the states for an attempt to recover any files.
This video is not as good as I’d wish it would be. I was going to add more but the IMovie app on the Iphone can only do so much

Story time!
I came into Nepal with some expectations. Those expectations were met but there was something I didn’t expect. Kathmandu is a really dark place. I am not a person who has the spiritual gift of discernment but I believe God opened my eyes in my heart to feel it.
All the guys spent the month together for ministry. This is called MANistry.
At the beginning of the month was came together and decided we needed to be more intentional with our actions and take initiative.
Every morning we would wake up at 6 and start reading Job. We didn’t know that this story would be helpful in the future.
We started out by taking a over night bus to the Indian/Nepal border. This was a miserable 16 hour ride. We stopped every hour, the bus driver blasted his music until 3:30am, and the road was beyond terrible.
The most important thing, we survived. We took a 30 min hike to our house. This house was built by the community for guests like us. Every morning and afternoon we split up into two groups to hike far and wide to villages all around.
The first day we went to a house filled with younger kids and some adults. We were able to share our testimonies to them and prayed over a specific guy our age.
2 days later we saw him again. We were walking back from ministry when he spotted us. He ran down the dirt road yelling for us to turn around. When he finally caught up to us, he told us why he was so joyful.
He had a dream. He saw a bright light come out of the darkness. God came out of the light and told him this, “You are my son and my child. I love you. Go and tell who I am. Disciple the community”. He was so filled with joy that the joy he had spilled into us and smiles were all around.

We were in this spot for 10 days. In those 10 days we visited a 84 year old lady a couple times. Her name is Amia. About 8 years ago she was paralyzed. She was paralyzed from the neck down on one side of her body. I thought it could have been some type of polo but then the neighborhood began to talk and said that she is diabetic and that’s why she became paralyzed. Not sure but we began to pray for her. We prayed twice and nothing happened.
We told her we would come back and pray for her again. 2 days passed and we saw her again. Our team once again prayed for her, it wasn’t instantly but she began to move her arm and legs. She is now having difficulty opening her fist and moving her fingers.
We prayed once more and she could open and close her fist but not quite her fingers. She wanted to try to walk so her relatives picked her up and although she wasn’t able to walk by herself, she had such a desire to put one foot in front of the other. We sat her back down. Before we left she said one thing, she said, “I feel in my heart like I can walk again”. To see her smile on that day gave me hope for the rest of the community.

We hiked pretty far on day 6. Our group ended up at a house after lunch with 3 young teenage girls and an middle aged women. We talked to them for a while then asked them if they ever heard who Jesus is. They all said a little bit. I began to talk about my testimony and lead that into sharing the gospel. The oldest girl decided to give her life to Christ.
We prayed for her and encouraged her. Christians in this community get persecuted, especially women.
We then talked to the woman and asked her where her husband was. She called him on the phone, he was 5 minutes away.
Our translator said that he was a witch doctor. We didn’t know much more until we heard his story.
This is a couple who once was attacked by getting malaria, went to 3 different churches to be healed, and lost their faith because they were not healed. This man turned to another for help and he got better. He became a witch doctor after losing his faith. He departed from his ways once he came to see who God is. Our team was able to tell him the story of Job and the prodigal son. After having an amazing conversation with him, He and his wife rededicated themselves to Christ.

All in all, ministry has been fruitful in Nepal. We are always planting seeds but I am so thankful that I can see some fruit come out of our work.
We have one more month in Nepal then we head on over to Central America! I can’t wait to wear shorts again!
