“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to wear and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.”
~Ecclesiastes 3:1-8~
Timing is important. All the experiences listed in these verses are appropriate at certain times. We must discover, accept, and appreciate God’s perfect timing.
When is the time for hating? We shouldn’t hate evil people, but we should hate what they do. We should also hate it when people are mistreated, when children are starving, and when God is being dishonored. We must hate sin in our lives.
There is a time for everything. If there was anything that Solomon was sure of, it was that God is the sovereign ruler over everything. Birth and death, love and hate, war and peace, all have there own time under God’s control.
“He said to them, It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.” ~Acts 1:7~
Jesus was also aware of the truth that there is a time for everything. In Jesus’ ministry, he attended a wedding in Cana. As the celebration progressed, the host ran out of wine. Jesus’ mother asked for help, but he responded by saying, “My hour has not yet come” (John 2:4). Jesus was not trying to hide. Rather, He wanted to revel his glory in the right place and at the right time. He knew his works and words would lead to the cross, in keeping with God’s plan to bring salvation to humanity. Jesus also wanted to spend time teaching his disciples in order to prepare them for the task of building the church after his resurrection. God is sovereign over everything and God’s people can be sure that now is the time to share the Good News about Jesus.
Time- it can fly and promises to heal all of our wounds. We try to make it, save it, even kill it and there is never enough of it.
Time- is what stops everything from happening all at once. Making sense of the past through present into the future. Its later and sooner.
Time- is what measures the duration of pain and of joy and of everything in between. It’s awful but it’s lovely. It’s gracious and then it’s mean
Time- it like the wind. It lifts the light to float with it. While leaving the heavy to curse the rushing breeze.
Time is a precious thing. We must use it wisely. Try spending it few moments in prayer about your life or someone else’s. Pray for those people all around in your community and all around the world. Prayer is a powerful thing, we must give our time to be still. Invite God to interrupt how you see the world.
Do not worry about getting the right timing with anything that has come upon you in your life. If we are so concerned about getting the right timing then we will miss the opportunity all together. Lift everything up to God, let God be the one in control.
Anything that is significant is going to take time.
Words of affirmation: You are God’s workmanship. You were created in His image! You are more precious than Gold and He has a plan for you for greater than you can ever fathom!!! He loves and adores you! You are stronger than you ever can know. You are worth dying on the cross for.
You are worth it.
I have officially raised $13,255!!! This is exciting news!!!!! I can now officially leave in September but I still need your help to raise $1696 more to keep me on the race to go to Nicaragua and Guatemala in which are in desperate need of the gospel.
For every donation I receive here on out will equal to a pie in the face. I will do this when I have raised all the money I need and will let one of my small groups (3rd graders or Freshman guys) pie me in the face however many times. – you know you want to see this happen-
“Be still and know that I am God, I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
