Hola,
Today I said my first goodbyes on the Race.
I had to say goodbye to the students I’ve been working with for the past week. It was sad! I’m so glad God allowed me to be blessed by them this past week. Their school year ended today. One of the days with them was so precious, I was in the class room and it was their break so I was spinning a few of them in circles. Then we went outside and they wanted me to spin them more so I took their hands and spun them around so fast their feet came off the ground and they were flying, they loved it! I loved it too because as I was spinning them I got to look at their overjoyed faces and listen to their giggling voices that I’ll always remember. Pretty soon I had 20 kids lined up waiting for their turn. I thought to myself my arms are super tired, and there is a long line of anxiously awaiting kids. I couldn’t just say no. I spun everyone and was so dizzy and getting nauseous but yet I was so happy. Sometimes we have to overlook our feelings of discomfort to bless others. After the spinning game ended I sat down and they all were trying to spin one another it was so cute to watch.
Also, one of the kids that became good friends with me from day one was a little girl named Sasha. One day she was very excited to introduce me to her Dad(Papa). I was so honored! He was a kind gentlemen. She grabbed my hand and drug me over and showed me her Dad and wanted me to show him the spinning trick, so I spun her around and her Dad just smiled so big.
My heart has been spilling over with joy being around these contagiously joyful children! God has blessed the beginning of my journey so richly!
I’ve learned so much from being around these kids, It’s really amazing how much a child can teach you!
I’m so thankful for the time I had with these kids even if it ended so quickly with goodbye.
Love, Naomi =)
