O Lord, I desire your presence;
O Father, I want more of your fullness;
O Jesus, help me see more of your goodness!!!
But how can I go deeper
with this constant access to wifi,
when I spend hours scrolling instagram and facebook,
when my moments with You are frequently interrupted
by messages on messages.
So many things
grabbing my attention,
pulling my thoughts
in so many directions.
As if those things will satisfy some void in my heart;
As if I will somehow be filled by that one message,
or seeing that one instagram photo.
It’s all a lie,
a mere distraction
that the enemy uses to keep us
from the One who is constantly speaking;
the One who so desperately wants to lavish me with His unconditional love.
Have you ever thought about
how God knows you better than anyone else?
Better than you even know yourself.
He sees into every crevice of your soul;
He sees the parts of your body that you can’t even see.
He searches your heart
and your deepest darkest thoughts.
He knows what you’re going to say before you even say it.
WHAT!!?!!?
Why would I even try to “hide” anything from God?
Won’t my life be 100 times better
if I come naked and exposed to the Father?
So I can have the fullness of His light penetrating my life forever!?
What if I dared
to put down my phone
to tune into the people around me,
to lay down everything at the feet of Jesus.
What if I come to the Father
[naked and exposed]
in His presence;
Letting him penetrate every crevice
of my soul
and take me deeper
on a journey into the fullness
from glory to glory
in the Father’s arms
forever and ever amen!!!
I’ve been going through Song of Songs this week and it’s seriously wrecking me!!! It’s unreal reading the metaphors between Solomon & his wife and Christ’s love for the Church; His amazing, unconditional love for His children. He loves every part of us more than we can ever comprehend—he sees no flaw in us whatsoever! It’s such a beautiful picture, really.
And on top of that, He’s always trying to speak to us; we just have to open our hearts to Him! Set aside the distractions and actually take a moment to tune into the Father! Take some time to listen to his voice and start to understand it.
I want to challenge you to step out in your relationship with Jesus this week. Try something you’ve never done before! Close your eyes and ask The Lord to speak to you in a vision or word or verse. Write a poem. Go on a prayer walk. Do a listening prayer. Pray in a new way! You’ll never regret spending 5 minutes with The Lord over scrolling Insta….I can attest to that one.
I promise, you will never regret asking for more of the Lord’s fullness. He wants to pour His Spirit out on you!!
Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. [John 16:24]
