Hello Family, Friends, & Supporters!

I have been so honored to share this journey with you this year. I have also been encouraged by your support and prayers throughout these last few months of serving and traveling. Recently, I had some time to reflect on where I have traveled and the people I have met. I’m definitely not the same woman I was before the race began, and I hope to continue to fall more in love with Jesus and the different people and cultures that He has created around the world.

So, it’s almost the end of month seven on my journey and you may ask how you can support me now? I would encourage you to read more about the persecuted church, the 10/40 Window, and Eastern cultures in general. Having a greater understanding of what these cultures believe and how they live will greatly influence the way we serve them and the way we share the gospel with them.

Did You Know?
There are three “types” of cultures that shape the world we live in:

1) Guilt-Innocence Culture (Western)
2) Shame-Honor Culture (Eastern)
3) Fear-Power Culture (Tribal)

How Do We Share the Gospel?
“Most unreached people groups are predominantly honor-shame in cultural orientation. For this reason, a theology for honor-shame cultures may be missiologically strategic for fulfilling the Great Commission of making disciples in all nations.” – The 3D Gospel

Will You Pray?
So today I have a special request of you: I have a list below of all of the countries that I have traveled to so far on this journey. I do not want to forget the places that I have been and the people that I have met. And you can help me remember through your own prayers!

Here’s a little recap of where I’ve been:

1) Australia
2) Indonesia
3) Sri Lanka
4) India
5) Nepal
6) Tibet / China
7) Kazakhstan

There’s still more countries to come, but I pray that the light of the gospel continues to shine in these nations even after we have gone.

Also, here’s a prayer that I wrote recently concerning the nations. Remember, nothing is impossible for God!

“Lord, You are searching the nations to find someone who loves Your law. The 10/40 Window is no longer a daunting location on the map – it’s just a new area where we can show Your love and truth. You created these people, these nations. Their salvations cannot be hindered by laws, by governments, or even by past religions. Oh, no, God! Nothing is impossible for You!”

Many thanks & much love!
Melissa

Psalm 115:1-3
“Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness! Why should the nations say, ‘Where is their God?’ Our God is in the heavens; he does all that he pleases.”

I Timothy 4:10
“For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people…”
