This is the second installment of the series I’m doing on my squad mates. Today’s blog is all about Marah. This is Marah!
Marah and I were on the same team together for 4 months. We traveled through Africa and Asia together, and it was so much fun. Marah has the most joyful spirit. I remember at training camp thinking, “No one can possibly be that happy all the time,” but I was wrong. Getting to know Marah was one of my favorite things this year and our friendship is so special to me.
Marah is very similar to me in some ways. We are both very strong personalities. We both are strong willed and opinionated. This made for an interesting dynamic for a while. Eventually we figured out how to interact with one another and we never looked back.
Marah is what we call “high flame” most of the time, with the exception of mornings before 10 am. She is not a morning person which is another thing we have in common.
Marah is a great friend. She listens and has great insight to give. Some of the most impactful things I learned this year came from her. She taught me about joy and how gratefulness breeds joy.
Marah throws a mean dance party. If I have any new dance moves after this year it’s thanks to her. Loving her well is not going too long without having a dance party. Loving her well is also choosing to twin with her. Here is a picture of us twinning hard at a braai in South Africa. This picture also sums up our friendship too.
Marah knows how to bring out the best in people. I can always count on her to tell me the truth, even if I don’t want to hear it. She goes on adventures with me. She is the Weinie to my Schnitzel and I am so grateful for her friendship.
I could go on and on about Marah because this girl is incredible but I’ll just leave you with this. Marah is someone you can count on. She is loyal and honest. She loves with her whole heart and has the ability to change the atmosphere of a room with her joy. She has the best heart and I’m so glad we got to spend so much time together this year. Trust me, if you ever get the chance, be friends with this girl. You won’t regret it. I love you Weinie!
