Hey friends!
I cannot put into words how much I have appreciated each one of you. Your encouragement, support and constant prayer has given me everything I have needed to finish the race strong. It meant so much to have people at home reading the stories Jesus has given me this year and I hope it has come as an encouragement to you.
I know that a big question on everyone’s mind is, “What’s next?”
Unsurprisingly enough, that has been on all of our minds as well. This has been a main conversation between Jesus and me throughout this year. It is so fun dreaming with him and envisioning what the future could hold.
Drum roll please…
Now that I am home from the World Race I will be working with my good friend Andy Williames through his non-profit called International Council of Friends!
International Council of Friends (ICF) is a non-profit based out of Chicago that exists to empower leaders to be Jesus in their sphere of influence. They have three primary points of focus, one of which is working with young professional leaders. This is where they want me to focus…specifically in deepening their efforts all throughout Illinois while also helping some initiatives around the globe…including Nicaragua!
ICF does a wonderful work in introducing business and political leaders to Jesus and then walks alongside them to address, head-on, issues of divisiveness, fear, doubt, greed and pride. As they walk alongside these leaders, and the hearts of the leaders are transformed by the power of a loving God, little by little the leaders begin to not only believe in Jesus but also believe like Jesus. This, in turn, compels them to think like Jesus, talk like Jesus, act like Jesus and love like Jesus in their respective positions of influence upon society.
Catching young professionals in my generation early and introducing them to these ways of living will set new paths into their futures that, I believe, will set my generation free to have a lifetime of sustainable, Jesus-led impact!
You may notice ICF is hard to google because they have not had a website. That has historically been intentional because of the nature of what they do and whom they work with in more tenuous countries, but there currently is a site in the works.
I am really excited to partner with Andy because I truly believe in the work he is doing and I believe my strengths, passions and gifting will be utilized well in ICF’s mission.
I will be switching over to a new blog site and will be sending the link through here once it is up and running. I would love to talk to anyone who has questions or would be interested in continuing to follow my journey!
