As I sit here in my parent’s living room on my last day in Naperville, I cannot believe the overwhelming peace I have about the beginning of my adventure tomorrow. I thought I would be more anxious or doubtful at this point, but instead I just feel really ready. Praise Him! I am beyond excited to reunite with my squad, fly out to another country, observe a new culture, and talk with people about Jesus. I’m craving the opportunity to learn and love at a whole new level.
As I sit here on the living room couch, I realize that none of this could have been possible without all of you. When I was uncertain that I could do something like this, you spoke truth and affirmation. When I doubted raising the money, you gave with such generosity. When I had fear of leaving everyone I love and care about, you offered your prayers and big hugs. You reminded me that I am not doing this on my own! Even though I will be the one stepping onto the plane tomorrow, you will still be with me because you have promised your thoughts and prayers. Thank you. Thank you for joining my team and offering your support. It is hard to put into words how much I appreciate your sacrifice, time, friendship and love.
Well, tomorrow is the big day! I fly out to Atlanta for another few days of training. My parents will be with me until Sunday afternoon and will receive training of their own. After hard goodbyes with parents my squad and I will have one more day of training and then head out to our first country on Tuesday, October 10th. And surprise, surprise my route has changed! Instead of beginning with Bosnia and Albania, my team has been re-routed to start in Kosovo and continue on to Romania! Thus, my route is now, Kosovo, Romania, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama.
Thanks again to all of you for your support and prayers! Stay tuned…:)
